Gowan Distributors Limited (DS Automobiles Ireland) has issued a voluntary safety recall for specific DS3 Crossback vehicles due to a critical software issue in the battery monitoring system.
Recall Overview
- Affected Model: DS3 Crossback (electric variant)
- Production Period: 7 June 2022 – 5 December 2022
- Number of Vehicles Affected in Ireland: 3
The recall addresses a software error in the battery monitoring system, which was intended to prevent engine shutdowns. However, this software fails to resolve issues related to invalid cell voltage and incorrect temperature module signals. Consequently, the vehicle may not enter ‘Ready’ mode upon start-up, and in severe cases, could experience sudden engine shutdowns while driving, posing significant safety risks.
